SAITEX draws visitors like moths to a flame.
27 Jul 2010

The 17th annual Southern African International Trade Exhibition (SAITEX) kicked off in style this morning as it welcomed hundreds of visitors to the retail and light industrial trade show. SAITEX is being held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, as well as Africa’s Big Seven Food and Beverage Trade Show, and both shows will run until Tuesday 27 July. If last year’s figures are anything to go by, thousands of eager visitors will have streamed through the registration gates at the close of the three days – in 2009, the combined attendance of 12 708 visitors came from 41 different countries.

The first in a series of high-profile events at the well-known trade exhibition, the Indian Consul General Vikram Doraiswami inaugurated the Indian Pavilion in a traditional candle-lighting ceremony, with John Thomson, Managing Director of Exhibition Management Services (who organise the event), close by to lend a helping hand.

With over 640 exhibitors at this year’s event, the Southern African International Trade Exhibition (SAITEX) once again provides a vast showcase of thousands of products from hundreds of suppliers sourced from all over the world.

Established in 1993 and acquired in 2008 by specialist trade show organisers Exhibition Management Services (EMS), SAITEX is the only multi-sector trade fair of its size and kind on the African continent. The event hosts hundreds of exhibitors showcasing thousands of products, services and business opportunities from all corners of the world. It has developed a reputation for translating export, import, development and investment opportunities into solid business transactions.
